What is H5P?

OK, so what is H5P?

H5P stands for HTML 5 Package. Now we know that may not explain it at all. A more simplified way to describe it is content that can be reused on multiple websites. Functionally it is bits of HTML code that can do wondrous, and interactive things. The best part about H5P is that it can be “reused” over and over. Once someone creates a piece of H5P content you can “embed” it in places like Canvas and WordPress. And because HTML5 is a standard, the same code can be used in lots of places.

We are also building an H5P Repository on this site – H5P Items. Which means the reusable content can be found here and you can reuse it or embed it on another site. You can read how to use and reuse H5P content on our Power of the R’s article.

H5P is also available as a plugin that enables the creation of interactive content like Interactive Videos, Presentations, Games, Quizzes and more! You can Get Started on the H5P site and learn more about how to create your own content.
